Color Scheme Inspirations: Plum + Powder Blue

The color scheme for our wedding is plum, powder blue, and ivory. My favorite color is actually any kind of blue (half of my closet is blue clothes), but I didn't immediately want a blue wedding when I got engaged. I went to Barnes & Noble, bought every wedding and bridal magazine they had, and just thumbed through them, tearing out pictures I was drawn to. I surprised myself when most of the pictures I pulled turned out to be purple weddings, so here we are! Purple wedding it is!


As The Finer Things and Tastefully Entertaining have pointed out, a purple wedding can either be dramatic and bold, or romantic and delicate. After searching the web and saving whatever images jumped out at me, I think my theme is more on the romantic end of the spectrum. Deep purple is usually suggested for fall or winter weddings since it can be so bold, but I think the combination with pale blue will be great for spring!
