Our Chilly Morning Engagement Pictures at the Park

I am utterly and completely thrilled with how our engagement pictures turned out! I was lucky enough to win an engagement session with the ultra-talented Shannon Cunningham in Austin. I went totally gaga over the beautiful pictures on her blog. Every couple she photographs always looks so happy and in love!

We did our engagement session at DAWN! Mainly because it was the only time that worked with our schedules. But it turns out the light is gorgeous at that time too.

We chose to take our engagement pictures at one of our favorite parks in Austin, Red Bud Isle. The park makes us happy, and I think you can really see that in our faces. Plus, the trees were blooming and beautiful in springtime.

Yes, you read that correctly: these pictures were taken in the spring. So why the sweaters? Turns out that even in Texas, it can be pretty chilly in the morning in March. This particular morning, it was 40 degrees! I'm clinging to Anthony for warmth in a LOT of pictures. The cold weather did a brighten our cheeks a bit!

I loved all the neat places the park offered for taking pictures, including these huge boulder steps down to Town Lake.

I was very nervous about taking our engagement pictures, especially since we took them only THREE weeks before our wedding. Shannon, the photography, put us at ease in front of the camera really quickly. Her instructions were basically, "OK, look at each other, and then, be in love." Done!
